Since the inception of our weekly Basketball training program in June 2016, we train and mentor youngsters on the first court our founder ever played on as a boy at Olumeni Street, Old GRA, Port Harcourt.
The court has been home to all our basketball program training beneficiaries who have improved immensely over time enough for some of them to win local and international titles for their schools, the Nigerian youth team and for the foundation in other competitions. A symbol of unity for all age grades, it is the court for players, enthusiasts and fans in the community who love the game.
Sadly, the court is currently in a very bad condition and may be deemed unusable in no time. Here is the court and the extent of its dilapidation.
.
The SBM Foundation is keen on giving these young talents a safe place to facilitates the exploration of their abilities to the fullest, and without the insecurities that plague the mind while playing on a damaged court. With the unavailability of easily accessible courts, we are determined to renovate our current court and make it a haven for our talented youths
to flourish.
We know we can’t do it on our own, but with your help, we believe it is is possible.
